I was part of a three-person team working on a user research project with the Peoria Humane Society (PHS). The goal of this project was to create a product that PHS can incorporate to help them increase donation and adoption efforts.
Our first steps were to conduct a heuristic evaluation of the current website, create business and user goals, do a competitive analysis, conduct field research, and conduct interviews with current donors. After that was complete, we had an ideation session to decide on what our deliverable was going to be.
After analyzing the user interviews, the ideation session, and receiving feedback from classmates, our team decided that we wanted to focus on adoption stories. From the user interviews, we realized that people want to see more behind the scenes of the adoptions, and how the animals are doing post-adoption.
We created a quad chart of our concept as well as our previous findings to present to the client. After our idea was approved by the client, we began to sketch out story templates for the website and various social media platforms. Finally, we interviewed previous adopters and created our high-fidelity website designs based on our research.
